A wood-fired Nordic sauna for up to eight on the banks of the River Tay, run out of Dunkeld's Taybank inn. Drop-in community sessions run mid-week and private hires get the hut with a six-foot cold plunge for eighty minutes. Open October to March only.
Good to know
- Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- On a river — the cold side of the cycle comes from open running water rather than a tub.
- Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Wood-fired heat — softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Bar on premises — drinks alongside (or after) the session; the venue isn't dry like most outdoor sauna setups.
- Bookable as a private session — rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
