AQUA DOME

About

AQUA DOME sits in Tirol's Ötztal, where sulphurous thermal water fills twelve indoor and outdoor pools. Ten saunas cover more than 2,000 square metres, among them a stone sauna and a gorge sauna. The sauna floor has its own open-air area, water basins, quiet rooms and a bar.

Good to know

• Bar on premises: drinks alongside (or after) the session, and the venue isn't dry like most outdoor sauna setups.
• Mountain setting: elevation changes and views are part of what you're paying for.
• Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
• Nude sauna: some or all sessions are taken without swimwear.
• Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.

The sauna world is open 10:00-22:00 and bathing ends at 22:30. Sauna, SPA 3000 and fitness are for ages 15 and over, and sauna entry is a supplement on a thermal ticket. Moonlight bathing on Fridays runs to midnight.
