Avenida-Therme
Hohenfelden, Germany

About
A bathing complex beside the Hohenfelden reservoir, with a family pool hall and a separate Saunenwelt of seven themed cabins. Among them are a wood-fired pine cabin and a herb cabin in the sauna garden, plus an event cabin with changing Aufgüsse. There is a sauna restaurant and fireside rest rooms; the sauna floor is textilfrei.
Good to know
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Direct lake access: most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
- Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
- Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
