The flagship of London's community sauna movement — 7 wood-fired saunas in a converted bathhouse at Hackney Wick. Non-profit, sessions from £8.50, and the heat is uncompromising. The canalside setting near the Olympic Park adds industrial atmosphere that suits the experience.

• Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
