Kristalltherme Ludwigsfelde
Ludwigsfelde, Germany

About
A large Kristall Therme south of Berlin with thirteen themed saunas, eight indoors and five out, from 60C to 100C, plus two steam baths and a hamam. Warm natron and salt pools spread over 1,700 square metres of water, with restaurants and a massage and beauty wing. The Therme is textilfrei apart from Sunday afternoons and Wednesdays.
Good to know
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Electric stove: quicker to bring up to temperature, easier to control, and what most urban bathhouses run.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
- Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
- Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
