The lakeside Kuuma, next to Buiten beach café on the Sloterplas. Swim straight out of the sauna into the lake — the cooldown here is the real deal, not a plunge tub. Quieter and more suburban than the central locations.

Good to know

• Direct lake access — most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
• Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Electric stove — quicker to bring up to temperature, easier to control, and what most urban bathhouses run.
