About
MaxGus runs a wood-fired sauna built into a shipping container at Ryslinge on Funen. An ice tub and showers stand outside for cooling between rounds, and changing happens under a lean-to. Ole Madsen leads the sessions as a certified gusmester, in saunagus and in banya with venik branch bundles.
Good to know
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Swimwear sauna: some or all sessions are taken in swimwear, so pack it.
Hours
- Hours not listed
Session times live only inside the booking system and the site publishes no weekly pattern, so no hours are recorded here. A saunagus session runs about 90 minutes in three rounds; a private booking is two hours.
