Bad Liebenzell's thermal baths sit in the Nagold valley in the northern Black Forest. Sauna Pinea, its sauna landscape, holds two Finnish log cabins outdoors, a panorama sauna facing Burg Liebenzell, a Bio-Sauna and a Dampfbad, with a 12 °C plunge pool and rotating Aufguss. The mineral thermal pools come on the same ticket.

Good to know

• Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
• Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Hot tub on site: adds a warm-water option between the sauna and the cold plunge for a longer cycle.
• Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.

Sauna Pinea is women-only on Thursdays, except on public holidays and in Baden-Württemberg school holidays; last entry one hour before closing. Closed 24, 25 and 31 December, and opens from 11:00 on 1 January.
