About
An eight-seat wood-fired sauna set at the beach at Cobden, on the north side of the Grey River mouth in Greymouth. Sessions are booked online in 30- or 60-minute slots, the sauna has its own shower and the public toilets and showers are a short walk away. The whole sauna can also be hired by arrangement.
Good to know
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Right on the sea: expect saltwater dips between rounds, cold even in summer.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
