About
Sisu + Löyly runs two saunas on the Lake Superior shore in downtown Grand Marais, looking out to East Bay and Artists Point. Sessions are booked online, shared or with a sauna kept for your group, and there is a lounge and a bonfire pit. In summer the same team docks a floating sauna at Skyport Lodge.
Good to know
- Direct lake access: most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Electric stove: quicker to bring up to temperature, easier to control, and what most urban bathhouses run.
- Bookable as a private session: rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
- Mixed sauna: men and women share the room, in every session or on set days.
- Swimwear sauna: some or all sessions are taken in swimwear, so pack it.
