Sky Spa and Sauna

About

Sky Spa & Sauna is a coed European-style bathhouse in Buffalo Grove, sold by the day pass. A wet sauna with a brick stove and cold-water buckets sits beside a dry sauna, a hammam and a Himalayan salt cave. There is an indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, a Jacuzzi and a café with Eastern European dishes.

Good to know

• Bar on premises: drinks alongside (or after) the session, and the venue isn't dry like most outdoor sauna setups.
• Hot tub on site: adds a warm-water option between the sauna and the cold plunge for a longer cycle.
• Mixed sauna: men and women share the room, in every session or on set days.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Bookable as a private session: rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
• Swimwear sauna: some or all sessions are taken in swimwear, so pack it.
