About

SoJo is a Korean-style spa club on River Road in Edgewater, looking across the Hudson to Manhattan. Indoors are salt, charcoal, clay and far-infrared rooms, a ganbanyoku room, an ice room and single-sex bath houses where nudity is optional. Outdoor terraces add a Finnish-style dry sauna, heated baths and a rooftop infinity pool.

Good to know

• Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Hot tub on site: adds a warm-water option between the sauna and the cold plunge for a longer cycle.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Rooftop element: at least part of the venue is outdoors at altitude, with views as part of the rest cycle.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
• Women-only sauna: the venue has a women's side or room, or runs set women-only sessions.
• Mixed sauna: men and women share the room, in every session or on set days.
• Nude sauna: some or all sessions are taken without swimwear.
• Swimwear sauna: some or all sessions are taken in swimwear, so pack it.
