About

A brine thermal bath at Burg in the Spreewald biosphere reserve, drawing its Thermalsole from 1,350 metres beneath the building. Six indoor pools and a heated outdoor pool sit beside a SaunaGarten of seven rooms. They run from Finnish and herbal cabins to a Sanarium, an aroma steam bath and an infrared room, with Aufgüsse each hour.

Good to know

  • Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
  • Bar on premises: drinks alongside (or after) the session, and the venue isn't dry like most outdoor sauna setups.
  • Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
  • Gym facilities on site: the sauna is part of a wider fitness or recovery offer rather than a standalone bathhouse.
  • Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
  • Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
  • Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
  • Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
  • Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
