About
A summer-only beach sauna run by the Staatsbad on Norderney's west beach, about 7 km from town at the Oase naturist strand. Two Finnish saunas look out over the North Sea through panoramic windows, with fruit-scented Aufguss, a sun terrace and the sea itself for cooling off. No booking; card payment only.
Good to know
- Right on the sea: expect saltwater dips between rounds, cold even in summer.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
