About
A wood-fired cedar barrel sauna on a working high-country farm in the Cardrona Valley. A troop-carrier runs up from the car park on Waiorau Nordic Road, and rounds of heat are broken by creek-fed plunge pools. Sessions are shared, of one or two hours, or booked privately for up to twelve.
Good to know
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Mountain setting: elevation changes and views are part of what you're paying for.
- Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
- Bookable as a private session: rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
Hours
- Hours not listed
Open year-round by booking; no standing hours published, sessions released up to 4 weeks ahead (8 weeks for private); snow can affect road access in winter
