An Estonian-style wood-fired sauna built into a converted horse box pulled up beside Stonehaven's harbour. Up to six per session, with direct beach access for North Sea plunges and a cold freshwater shower outside.

Good to know

• Right on the sea — expect saltwater dips between rounds, cold even in summer.
• Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Wood-fired heat — softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
• Mobile operator — the sauna travels, so the location is part of the booking. Check the current site before you arrive.
• Bookable as a private session — rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
