Scotland's sea saunas follow the coastline rather than cluster in cities. You will find them in the fishing villages of Fife, along the Moray and Aberdeenshire coast, and as far out as Shetland and the Western Isles.
Most are wood-fired, and many are mobile, which is how a small village ends up supporting a sauna at all. The water is the North Sea or the Atlantic, in every month of the year. It is properly cold, and there is no easing into it.
In Scotland, 16 of the curated saunas fit this cut. See the full Scotland region guide for every venue, or keep scrolling for just the seaside saunas.
