Wood-fired saunas on the coast in Denmark

Blåvand Kurbad & Wellness spreads saunas, steam baths and pools across 1,200 square metres at Hvidbjerg Strand. One sauna burns an open wood fire and another looks out over the North Sea. Day visitors can buy entry without staying at the holiday park, and the house is 16 and over.

Sydlollands Vinterbadere keeps a wood-fired sauna for twelve at Østersøbadet, on Lolland's south coast. The sauna alternates between this beach and the harbour at Kramnitze, a month at a time through the winter season. Guests who are not members can use it for a fee, and the whole sauna can be booked privately.
