Powidz, Poland

Two wood-fired Finnish saunas and two hot tubs sit on the shore of Lake Powidz, each hired privately. There is direct access to the lake for a cold dip. Between rounds there is a small heated lobby with tea, and bookings are taken by phone or message.

Warsaw, Poland

A wood-fired garden banya on Trakt Brzeski in Wesoła, with a relaxation room and a covered veranda. Steaming is done with oak and birch venik. You cool off under a cold bucket or in a wooden barrel.

Wola Rzędzińska, Poland

A forest sauna house in Wola Rzędzińska, east of Tarnów, run by a married couple who are both saunamistrzowie. They lead seanse saunowe in a large Finnish sauna for small groups who book by phone. A hot tub, a cold-water tub, hammocks and a bonfire fill the breaks between rounds.

Warsaw, Poland

A wood-fired Finnish sauna beside the Fajna Kwatera hostel in Bielany, on a quiet green plot at the city's edge. Outside there is a terrace and an ice-water barrel, with a small relaxation room by the sauna. Guests book a single place in a small shared session or take the whole sauna for their group.

Las Saunas is a wood-fired sauna in the forest at Nowe Grabie, near Wołomin. Public Open evenings bring guided seanse saunowe, a hot jacuzzi, a cold-water tub and a campfire. At other times groups hire the cottages and sauna whole.

Leśna Sauna runs a wood-fired cedar sauna wagon in a riverside wood at Turawa, on the Mała Panew. Public sauna evenings include aufguss seanse and birch-whisk ceremonies. Between rounds there is a cold plunge tub, a jacuzzi, a glamping dome and a fire pit under the trees.

Giżycko, Poland

Mazurska Sauna is a wood-fired floating sauna on Lake Boczne, between Rydzewo and Bogaczewo near Giżycko. It has no jetty to the shore, so guests come by their own boat or take the owners' motorboat across. Sessions run from aufguss to Finnish löyly and whisking, and the whole boat can be booked privately.

Gdynia, Poland

Para is a small wood-fired Finnish sauna on a trailer, built by a group of friends, with open shared sessions and private group bookings. It has stood on a square behind the Żeglarz cinema in Jastarnia and on Gdynia's seafront boulevard below Polanka Redłowska. At the Gdynia site, bathers cool off in the sea.

Dziekanów Polski, Poland

Two wood-fired Finnish saunas on the shore of Lake Dziekanowskie, just outside Łomianki. The lake is a dozen steps away for cooling off between rounds. Book a place in a shared session, or take either sauna for your group.

Serock, Poland

A wood-fired sauna in a cabin moored at the end of a jetty on the Narew in Serock. Two large windows look out over the river, and bathers cool off by climbing straight down into it. Sessions are sold per person or for the whole cabin, with saunamistrz ceremonies and birch whisks on request.

Szczecin, Poland

A wood-fired Russian banya on Lake Głębokie, beside the city bathing beach on the north-west edge of Szczecin. A saunamistrz leads open sessions, with birch or oak venik treatments as an option. Bathers cool off in the lake, and a smaller panoramic sauna with a lake view is hired privately.

Owińska, Poland

Sauna Owińska is a wood-fired barrel sauna for eight on the lakeshore at WakeSpot, a wakeboard park near Poznań. Sessions are booked online by the hour, and the lake beside it serves for cooling off. The whole sauna can also be hired for a group, and a saunamistrz can be arranged.

Parole, Poland

An outdoor wood-fired sauna in the woods at Parole, a village south-west of Warsaw. A hot tub, cold-water tubs and a lounge with hammocks sit around the timber sauna cabin. Guests book a place at ceremonies (seanse saunowe) led by saunamistrzowie, some of them for women only.

Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland

Sauna Słoneczko is a wood-fired trailer sauna on the beach at Jezioro Bugaj in Piotrków Trybunalski. It seats about ten, is hired by the group, and has the lake for a cold dip between rounds. Firewood is on site, and guests stoke the stove themselves.

Toruń, Poland

Sauna u Flisaków is a wood-fired sauna across the Vistula from Toruń's medieval Old Town. The Toruńscy Flisacy boat crew runs open seanse, saunamistrz ceremonies and private hire. Bathers cool off in the river, and guests can arrive by wooden boat by arrangement.

Moderówka, Poland

Sauna Artis is the sauna garden of the Artis hotel and restaurant at Moderówka, between Krosno and Jasło. Wood-fired sauna rooms sit beside hot tubs and cold tubs around a glazed garden pavilion. Visits are evening seanse saunowe led by a saunamistrz, from regular sauna evenings to themed sauna nights, booked by phone.

Łowyń, Poland

SaunaPark is a small countryside saunarium in Łowyń, near Międzychód. It has a wood-fired Russian banya with saunamistrz-led sessions, a Finnish sauna for two and a steam room. Visits are booked ahead by phone, and massages and a brine hot tub fill the time between rounds.

Radzymin, Poland

Saunowy Zakątek is a wood-fired garden sauna on a residential street in Radzymin. The timber cabin opens onto a gravel courtyard with loungers and a shade sail. Visits are arranged in advance by phone.

Szaflary, Poland

Termy Gorący Potok in Szaflary is a thermal complex of outdoor pools filled with natural sulphur water. Its adults-only, textile-free saunarium has three dry saunas, a steam room and Gawra, a large wood-fired sauna. Saunamistrz-led ceremonies take place in Gawra, with granite tubs of thermal water close by.

Annopole, Poland

Wiejska Bania Annopole is a private-hire sauna yard in the fields outside Środa Wielkopolska. Groups take over a wood-fired barrel sauna, a wood-fired hot tub and a cold tub. Birch whisks are on hand for a banya-style session, and a wooden cabin can be booked for gatherings.

Rogówek, Poland

Zdrowo Pod Kopułą is a sauna garden built around a timber dome in the village of Rogówek, outside Białystok. Visiting sauna masters lead seanse saunowe with herbs, aromas and music at ticketed events for small groups. Groups can also hire the wood-fired sauna, pool, pond and dome for themselves.
