About
Burgsviks Havsbastu is a wood-fired sauna on the harbour at Burgsvik, on southern Gotland. Large windows face the bay, and a sun deck outside leads down steps into the water. The association that built it runs public bathing shifts, split into women's, mixed and men's sessions.
Good to know
- Right on the sea: expect saltwater dips between rounds, cold even in summer.
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Women-only sauna: the venue has a women's side or room, or runs set women-only sessions.
