About

Finska Bastun is a wood-fired sauna run by Jönköping's Finnish association beside Åsasjön in Norrahammar. An earlier sauna on the site burned down in 2009 and the association rebuilt it. The building takes private bookings, and members also have their own sauna shifts.

Good to know

  • Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
  • Direct lake access: most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.

Hours

  • Wed 14:00-21:00
  • Sat 10:00-16:00

Those are the members-only sauna shifts, with last entry one hour before closing. Non-members reach the sauna by hiring it privately instead, booked through the association's calendar at other times.
