Heidjers Wohl Sauna

About

The sauna landscape at Heidjers Wohl, run by Schneverdingen's town utility alongside its pool. Four heat rooms open onto a 2,200 square metre garden with a pond and a heated outdoor pool: a Kelo log Aufguss sauna at 95 degrees, a Finnish sauna, a warm-air room and a steam bath. Aufguss runs several times a day, a Banja ritual monthly.

Good to know

• Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
• Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Set in nature, away from the city, so bring a car or plan the transfer in advance.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.

Sauna hours; public holidays are published separately. Last admission one hour before closing. Sauna use from age 14, or from 10 accompanied by an adult. The sauna ticket also covers the adjoining sports and leisure pool during that pool's own hours.
