About

A public wood-fired sauna on the shore of Näsijärvi, run by Tampere's winter swimmers' club, with an ice hole kept open through the winter. Entry is pay-at-the-door with no booking, and quiet hours are set aside at the start of weekend openings and on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. A smaller yurt sauna shares the changing rooms.

Good to know

  • Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
  • Direct lake access: most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
  • Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
  • Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
