Limes-Thermen

About

A thermal bath on the hill above Aalen, on the line of the Roman Limes. The textile-free sauna block is ticketed separately from the pools. It holds a panorama sauna over the town with hourly Aufguss, a Finnish cabin, a log house guests infuse themselves, a Roman-Irish steam room, plunge basin and Kneipp walks.

Good to know

• Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
• Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Gym facilities on site: the sauna is part of a wider fitness or recovery offer rather than a standalone bathhouse.
• Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
• Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
• Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.

Mondays are women-only, all other days mixed. Closed 24 and 25 December, and for annual maintenance 5-24 July 2026. Thermal bath keeps its own slightly different hours.
