A Danish-built sauna handcrafted by Scandinavian Sauna, set in the backyard of Cobalt Studios in Newcastle's Ouseburn creative quarter. Seats 10, 1-hour sessions with cold plunge and fire pit. The Ouseburn setting — galleries, studios, the odd brewery — makes for a good afternoon around it.

Good to know

• Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Urban venue — sits inside the city rather than at a coast or lake, so you can fit a session into a day in town.
