Sauna Wetzlar
Wetzlar, Germany

About
Sauna Wetzlar is a small, independently run sauna under the roof of the Europabad. An 85°C Aufguss sauna takes hourly infusions drawn from a stock of more than 100 scents, beside a 70°C aroma sauna with colour light, a 50°C steam bath, a cold plunge pool and an open-air atrium. Entry includes the swimming pool while it is open.
Good to know
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Bar on premises: drinks alongside (or after) the session, and the venue isn't dry like most outdoor sauna setups.
- Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
- Urban venue: it sits inside the city rather than at a coast or lake. A session fits into a day in town.
