About
SOMi is a hand-built cedar sauna on a trailer, parked on the sand at Belle Isle Beach for weekend residencies through the colder months. The wood-fired room seats ten on two tiers. Between rounds, guests walk into the Detroit River or sit out facing the skyline.
Good to know
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Mobile operator: the sauna travels, so the location is part of the booking. Check the current site before you arrive.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
