A floating Finnish sauna moored at St Omer Wharf on Lake Wakatipu, with two handcrafted saunas — North and South — opening onto a lakeside deck. Sessions run to a contrast rhythm: heat, then a plunge straight into the glacial lake or a cold bucket rinse, with the mountains filling the view.

Good to know

• Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
• Direct lake access — most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
• Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
• Electric stove — quicker to bring up to temperature, easier to control, and what most urban bathhouses run.
