About
Community Sauna Baths' Stratford site sits in a community garden beside The Lighthouse. There are several wood-fired saunas, including an octagonal aufguss room and a small private cabin. Cold plunges and hot and cold showers complete the cycle, and concession pricing keeps it open to all.
Good to know
- Cold plunge available on site: use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- Wood-fired heat: softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Bookable as a private session: rent the room for your group rather than sharing with strangers.
- Women-only sauna: the venue has a women's side or room, or runs set women-only sessions.
- Mixed sauna: men and women share the room, in every session or on set days.
- Swimwear sauna: some or all sessions are taken in swimwear, so pack it.
