About
Floathaus is a floating wood-fired sauna moored at Muskoka Wharf, where the cold plunge is Lake Muskoka itself — open year-round, ice included in winter. Sessions are private rentals for solo bathers, couples or groups, from a quick 35-minute express to a two-hour soak, with a lakeside lounge between rounds. The appeal is the setting: heat, then straight into the lake.
Good to know
- Direct lake access — most visitors plunge straight into the water between sauna rounds.
- Cold plunge available on site — use it between rounds for the classic contrast cycle.
- Wood-fired heat — softer, heavier löyly than electric, and the smell of the stove is part of the room.
- Set up outdoors — weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
