About
The Hamburg vabali sits just east of the city in Glinde. Thirteen saunas, three steam baths and a laconium spread across a Balinese-themed garden of pools and relaxation rooms. Choreographed Aufguss infusions punctuate the day, and it is adults-only, quiet, and textile-free as the German convention demands.
Good to know
- Runs aufguss sessions: a guided löyly ritual where an attendant fans the steam around the room on a schedule.
- Pool on site: works alongside the sauna for swim-and-sauna sessions or a longer cool-down between rounds.
- Pairs the sauna with spa services like massage or a scrub, so a session can sit inside a wider visit.
- Set up outdoors: weather is part of the experience, so dress for the walk between cabin and water.
- Restaurant on site, so long sessions are the design. Food is part of the visit rather than a stop on the way home.
- Women-only sauna: the venue has a women's side or room, or runs set women-only sessions.
- Mixed sauna: men and women share the room, in every session or on set days.
- Nude sauna: some or all sessions are taken without swimwear.
